Scotty Gadlin, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon at Athens Eye Consultants in Athens, Georgia. He has many years of experience treating various eye diseases and vision problems in patients of all ages.

Dr. Gadlin graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens. He earned his doctorate in medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. While in medical school, he was in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Gadlin remained at the Medical College of Georgia to complete an internship in internal medicine and a residency in ophthalmology.

He’s highly trained in medical, laser, and surgical management of cataracts, diabetic eye diseases, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and traumatic eye injuries. Dr. Gadlin participates in continuing education to maintain his credentials and stay up to date with the latest advances in ophthalmology.

He spent six years caring for patients in the Oconee and Athens communities before opening Athens Eye Consultants. Dr. Gadlin is passionate about educating patients and other medical professionals.

He serves as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Georgia Regents University/University of Georgia (UGA/GRU) Medical Partnership. Dr. Gadlin is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.

He enjoys living in the Athens community with his wife, two children, and dogs. When he’s not at the office, Dr. Gadlin enjoys playing pickleball, woodworking, and taking in UGA athletic competitions. He’s a member of the Athens Woodworking Club, Athens Area Pickleball Association, and the William C. Hartman Foundation.
